App Compatibility
The SX products are only compatible with the new VSSL app. The VSSL Legacy does not support the SX Series, only VSSL amplifiers.
Possible Configurations
The SX Series supports 5.1 and 5.2 Surround Sound configurations as well as 7.1 and 7.2 Surround Sound. To achieve a surround sound system with the SX products, you must have a SX Soundbar in order to group the SX surround speakers and wireless SX subwoofer.
The soundbar will act as the brains (Leader) of the operation. The speakers and sub (Followers) will be paired to the soundbar for the surround system and the soundbar is the LCR. The speakers will be the surrounds and rear then you can have up to 2 wireless SX subs paired as well.
Additionally, you can use the SX Sync to make any existing In-Ceiling speakers be the rear over head speakers in the surround system. The Sync will be connected to the input of the amplifier those speakers are connected to and will output REAR AUDIO ONLY. If the content being watched on the TV isn't in surround audio, you will not hear audio from the rear speakers.
Alternatively, you can group SX Speakers and the wireless sub for a wireless home audio system. In this configuration, one of the speakers will act as the brains (Leader) then any other SX Speaker or SX Sub will be followers.
The SX Sub is only able to be set up with the VSSL app. It is not network enabled so you will not see it in Google Home or in the Cast menus (AirPlay or Chromecast). Cannot be used with products outside of the SX Series.
Set Up
iPhone/Airplay: Download the VSSL app if you have not already. Make sure you are connected to the same WiFi network the soundbar will be set up on. The Location Services and Local Network must be on in order for the VSSL app to see devices.
If you are setting up multiple SX devices, plug them in and set them up one at a time. Sometimes, if the devices are powered on and waiting to be set up for a while, it can cause some discovery issues.
- Open the VSSL app and wait for your device to pop up with a set up button. There will be a "New Devices Found" tab in case your device does not pop up
2. Select your device and follow the prompts
3. Repeat this process for all devices being set up
